Cutterier by Laz Yani, winner of the Renault New Talent Search, launched his Crystal Collection in collaboration with Swarovski® Crystals at SA Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014. This collection is available to purchase in the Edgars X SAFW Capsule Stores in Sandton City and Melrose Arch.
Inspired by reading brail for his Lufthansa 1st Best Spring/Summer 2014 Collection, his aim is to showcase the beauty of this form of reading which is designed for the blind. He has collaborated with leading crystal brand Swarovski and Crystal Forum for this collection, writing inspirational words in braille out of crystals. “I aim to use these clothes as a new language of confidence”
SA Fashion Week – New Talent Search [2014]

‘The New Point of View Challenge’ is the sought-after opportunity designers are looking for to utilize an expressive design process. This is for the Avant-garde, the street, the minimalist or the contemporary designer. This is for the aspiring designer or fashion house that is serious about the business of fashion.
Eligible designers will take part in a three phase creative process where designers will submit portfolio’s and from these finalists will be selected to present an inimitable 8 garment collection.
Innovation, Inspiration, Construction and Design will be major focal points for judges. The third phase will see finalists showcase a satellite collection as part of a 4 designer package at the SA Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015 Season.
The 2013′s winning collection was Cutterier by Laz Yani – an Eastern Cape native and a student of pattern and fashion engineering at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and of the London International School of Fashion. Yani presented his collection themed the new language of confidence at the Spring/Summer 2014 showcase.
